1. What do you think would happen to a trans girl who DID try to compete on the boys' team, aside from any dysphoria it might trigger? They get bullied enough as it is...and that is one reason only 12 percent of transgender girls participate in organized sports.

2. In most cases, girls are not allowed to try out for the boys' team. Detransitioning becomes the only option.

3. Boys can indeed have lower testosterone levels. And hey, maybe we can segregate by testosterone not gender. It's been discussed.

3. These bills DO include middle school kickball.

4. You do realize some of these bills are requiring doctors to do genital examinations on girls? They also are still considering trans girls who transition early, take puberty blockers and go through female puberty to belong on the boys' team. They are part of a movement to attack trans people in general by defining gender by the genitals you have at birth.

5. There aren't even that many trans girls. The idea that you could have an entire team of them? Not likely at all.

6. Semenya was told to compete as a man or take drugs she already knew made her quite sick. T-blockers have all kinds of nasty side effects and nobody should be forced onto them without a dang good *medical* reason. She's a woman. And she WAS driven out of track and field. She's now playing women's football.

One trans girl on the team is not an unfair advantage for the team. And one of the cis girls who sued a trans girl for having an unfair advantage proceded to trounce her thoroughly.

And are we going to include intersexed women who have a Y chromosome but no other male features, such as women with AIS, amongst those who should be on the boys' team. Some of these Republicans would.

The fact is that there literally isn't an issue here outside of the mind of a few transphobes who are using "protecting girls" as an excuse. "Protecting girls and women" is the SAME excuse used to tell trans women to pee in men's bathrooms. Btw, there are no incidents of trans women attacking cis women in the bathroom, but a trans woman who goes into the men's room is in very real danger.
