A lot of people do not understand that the species Homo sapiens has a gut made of steel.

We eat capsaicin (which is designed to keep mammals away) for pleasure. We eat chocolate (toxic), caffeine (toxic)...we are just extremely tough in this regard. Most other animals are not.

So, here's a question. I don't have a pet currently, but we don't do turkey for Thanksgiving because neither of us is particularly fond of it. We do ham.

I would think that would be safer to give a sample of than turkey, but am I wrong? How is a small amount of ham as a treat? I'd imagine cutting off the outer layer of fat would be good.
