And we are even less willing to welcome refugees now.

I am considered odd for saying that I would love refugees as my neighbors. There are a lot of Afghan refugees and their descendants here, enough to have built a very large mosque. They are good, decent people and I would rather have them than many white Americans.

(I would certainly rather have them than the people who tell me I shouldn't appreciate them).

So, the question is, what can we do? Voting may not be enough because that requires having a candidate who cares available...
