As somebody who studied the period, the fact that the Wall was Hadrian's Wall was pretty obvious. The description of Yvette also matches a stereotypical "Pict." Lots of red hair in northern Britain to this day.

The Wall is a fantasy exaggeration of the real thing. Which, btw, has lots of graffitti on it. Duty on Hadrian's Wall was apparently pretty boring most of the time.
