First of all, I’m not here to debate the A. Asexual people are queer. Asexual people belong in our community.

This article is for people who might have been misinformed as to what asexuality is, what it means, and the various different terms that show up. Asexual people often face harassment and misunderstanding, so let’s try and clear the air a little.

What is Asexuality?

Asexuality is lack of sexual attraction to individuals. An asexual person (often shortened to ace) doesn’t particularly want to fuck anyone.

What asexuality is not:

  • Lack of libido or sex drive. Asexual people may masturbate, watch pornography, or even have sex for pleasure or reproduction. If your sex drive goes away, by the way, talk to your doctor, there might be something they can do to get it back. Or a sex therapist.
  • A phase.
  • Being a “late bloomer.”
  • Broken
  • Being celibate

The definition of asexuality includes being happy that way.

Asexuality versus Celibacy

Let’s take this one on too.
