Early transition is indeed a complicated answer. A trans girl who takes puberty blockers and hormones will not go through male puberty. This is far better for her mental health and makes it a lot easier for her to pass as an adult.
But yes, it does mean she can't have biological offspring and that IS a tough and complicated choice that needs to be thoroughly explained to that child. There are many trans adults who delay part of medical transition until after they have had children, including trans men who choose to give birth.
This is one of the arguments used to make these treatments illegal. Which ignores the fact that the person wanting early transition may, in fact, become suicidal if they are forced to go through natal puberty. Some of these kids will *die* if they aren't given that treatment.
The answer is more research, developing counseling techniques that make these kids very clear on what their choices are, and understanding that some trans kids really DO need to transition that young.
