Everyone in the science fiction con community has known this for years.

We know that the people who party all night are more likely to come home with a case of "con crud" than those who try to get at least 5-6 hours. We put up signs to remind people.

Sadly, it doesn't stop people from partying all night, but it only takes observing a pattern over a few years to know what you SHOULD do to not get sick.
