I'm feeling decidedly piratical right now. Between the splint and the wrap on my right hand, it is about as useful as a hook.

Coping with only one hand is annoying so I figured I would share what I am working out and doing so that when and if it happens to you you can benefit from my hard-earned wisdom.

What Happened?

So how did I get broken? Yes I fell off a horse. It was not the horses fault. Admittedly she was kind of miss behaving we were jumping and she was in a grumpy mood but it was not her fault when I fell off. I got the now infamous twisties. This can happen to equestrians too, and it can be pretty dangerous.

The horse took off and I lost my sense of where I and the horse were in relation to each other and I fell. It was a very quick fall from a considerable height and at speed and I did not manage to let go of the reins on lines in time. My only actual memory of the fall was how many F bombs I dropped in the way down. I think it was only two.

I got up and my butt hurt and my finger hurt. I said to my instructor that I hoped I didn't break my finger. I tested my range of motion, and had full range of motionm soI started to head home. I realized on the subway that actually my hand was swelling up badly.
