Hey, I reward myself for doing my damn job all the time. I have no issues with dangling carrots to get people to do their job right.

When we have a culture that parole is about looking for reasons to put people back in jail, we aren’t going to shift that culture without incentives. If people were going to do it right without them, they already would. It’s like bribing people to get vaccinated. Maybe it shouldn’t be necessary, but people need to be nudged sometimes, and I prefer incentives over punishment.
