Honestly, what I hope we will eventually have is cars that detect when you are drunk, lock out manual operation, and then drive you home. But it's going to take a lot more work on self driving vehicles to achieve that.

This version I have mixed feelings about...but we DO need to keep drunk people off the roads.

In cities, actually providing decent public transit would help A LOT.
