I absolutely agree that we should ensure that anyone who gets pregnant and wants to keep the baby can.

I agree that we should offer resources.

However, saying "I will adopt your baby" is great *except*:

1. Are you going to pay the skyrocketing costs of giving birth in this country? Many economic abortions are because the family can't afford the associated medical costs.

2. Are you going to support them if the pregnancy makes them unable to work? Many economic abortions are because the pregnant person has to work.

3. Do you understand that pregnancy is dangerous? All mammalian pregnancies carry the risk of death and human pregnancies are particularly tough. Pregnancy complications can leave you disabled or kill you decades later. When you say "You must keep that baby" you are saying "I require you to risk your life." If babies weren't cute we'd never do it.

The U.S. has the highest maternal mortality rate of any developed country.

And we do not require anyone to risk their life for another person in any other circumstance. We don't draft...oh wait, yes we do. We DO draft firefighters. We make prisoners do it.

There's another word for that.

That word is slavery. Forced reproduction is a form of slavery.

I am not saying you shouldn't keep doing what you are doing. By ALL means support people.

But understand that you not only cannot but should not try to stop abortion that way.
