I agree with most of these, but I will note that sometimes I see adoption policies that just make people go to breeders.

For example, at one point our local shelter would ask if ANYONE in your family let a cat go outside, and if you said yes that was a downcheck. Because, what, you are THAT influenced by your family that you can't do things differently?

There's a balance between selective and ridiculous.
