I agree with you except on the dressing up. If I'm flying, 1. I need to be comfortable and 2. When unexpected turbulence causes me to spill my drink everywhere, I do not want to be wearing something which has to be dry cleaned.

So, no, I'm not dressing up to fly, and I don't think that relates to being an asshole.
