I disagree because it's about primary purpose.

The primary purpose of Wrath of Khan is not to scare you, as awful as the earwig scene was.

Alien is ALL about scaring the audience.

Horror *beats* do not necessarily make a work part of the horror genre, any more than a love story makes it a romance.
