I don't know, I think that naming storms after white people is entirely appropriate after all the damage we've done.
But there is one thing:
We should probably stop giving storms gendered names. Why?
There are literally studies that show that "female" hurricanes kill more people than "male" hurricanes.
This is not some statistical weirdness of naming.
It's because people literally think that things with "girl" names are less dangerous. So they take Katrina less seriously than Andrew...take fewer protective actions.
We should move to a practice of using only gender neutral or gender ambiguous names for storms.
