I get why the apparent speed of development made some people nervous. People don't know that mRNA technology has been in testing for cancer treatment for years...unless you have cancer or know somebody with cancer. I certainly didn't until it was talked about in the context of vaccines and I did some poking and scientific paper reading.

Which gave me all the reassurance I needed to let them poke me with Moderna BUT I still had anxiety about it! I had a moment of "You're letting them inject you with WHAT." I'm pro vaxx and get my flu shot every year (in fact I have a sore arm right now), but the perceived-as-new technology still generated anxiety.

At this point, I think most people should be able to get over it. But I have sympathy for the nervous about new technology crowd.

None for the ones taking horse wormer, though.
