I go to a SF con that traditionally has a more conservative demographic.
This year, somebody was giving out pronoun pins. The hardcore conservatives didn't take them, but most people took a pin...and used it. Or a pronoun ribbon...and used it.
Even the people who didn't take them (the kind of cis people who think *they* don't need to wear one) weren't saying anything. A number of people were also walking around with pro choice angry uterus ribbons (I have a spare that was supposed to be for Balticon, but I got sick and had to bail, so it'll be saved for next year, likely).
The usual conservative suspects weren't about to actually *join in* with the shenanigans. But nobody got harassed or yelled at, I heard no quiet grumbling. There was acceptance.
Next year we'll see if we can get them to join in. But it made me feel very hopeful.
On abortion, certainly, there are strong signs that the extremely repressive policies are extremely unpopular *even amongst people who would consider themselves pro life*.
