I had somebody explode at me for accidentally misgendering because "You were corrected and did it again."

It was online. I was corrected in a transient chat room with no scrollback. I didn't see it. "You're responsible for seeing it" was the response. It ended with me being accused of faking the massive anxiety attack I got for being screamed at over an accident.

The person who did it was a cis "ally." The trans person involved was embarrassed by the entire affair from what they said.

So I think some of this comes from well meaning allies "protecting" trans people. It's not the first time I've seen this crap.
