I have lived in America for over 20 years and I still can't do it.
The correct temperature for water is chilled, yes, but not with a ton of ice in it. Soda pop is just fine at room temperature.
I feel as if I face a constant battle not to have every beverage served to me at a temperature which matches an Alaskan glacier.
Whenever we travel to Europe my American husband bitches that nothing is ever cold enough.
Don't get me wrong, I love me some ice cream. And if a cocktail is supposed to have ice in it, give me the appropriate amount of ice, because it's an ingredient.
