I haven't looked at or played the game yet, but the comic book is one of the best horror comics ever produced.

I will note that it is possible, with the right group, to tell fantastic stories in D&D...but the group I can do with that has also told fantastic stories in Vampire, Forged in the Dark, FATE, the Buffy:TVS RPG, you name it.

But D&D can, yes, also degenerate back to its wargaming roots.

Die is an intentional subversion. But I also wouldn't want to play it with strangers, while I WILL play D&D with people I barely know...
