i know it feels like this thing is going to last forever, but severe outcomes are rarer with omicron as population immunity builds.

Respiratory pandemics historically last two to three years.

We may need regular shots, but probably not every six months. The boosters we need now are essentially part of the initial series and mutation rates will slow over time. Maybe once a year.

Pandemics end slowly.
