I live in NoVA, where there are, in fact, a good number of Muslims (and that number is likely to increase in the near future). The largest mosque in North America is not THAT far away from me.
A nice Midwestern guy, a pastor even, asked me how I felt about the mosque and all those Muslims.
I informed him they were very nice people, many of them highly patriotic. He eventually excused himself. This was, btw, in HIS church hall.
Two years later I had to attend a second funeral also officiated by this same nice Midwestern pastor. He looked at me and my husband...and stayed the far side of the room.
It was amusing but also quite saddening, because my testimony didn't make him more comfortable with Muslims.
It made him less comfortable with me.
