I once knew a dog who could open kitchen cabinets. They had to be latched.

Of course, he WAS a Border Collie.

But he taught it to the dumb as whatever whippet cross...

So that's another thing to consider. If you have cabinet doors that can be opened without the need for opposable thumbs, you may need to dog proof them with a latch.
