I think what this says more than anything else is that we need more programs that bring together the very old and the young, whether or not they are biologically related. In our "wild" lives before all this technology, the old would care for the children while the young and fit gathered food. The natural role of the elderly is to teach and spending time with children can delay cognitive decline and reduce mental health issues. In other words, once the pandemic is over, we need to restore and increase programs that, for example, put together kids without grandparents with elders without grandchildren.
