I'm feeling a circular argument here.

MY argument is that it is better to be loved by a step parent than beaten by a biological parent.

And that nobody, of either gender, should *ever* be forced to co-parent with somebody who is violent towards them or their children.

Ever.

Nobody's right to their genetic offspring trumps the safety of those children and the safety of the other parent.
