I've had to vote by mail a couple of times. I now use absentee-in-person, which is easier for somebody who doesn't work in an office (in my state your mail-in vote has to be witnessed by an adult citizen who is NOT your spouse...so it's easier to go to the courthouse). Once I was going to a funeral. Another time I was going to a wedding.

And no, the Trump/Biden thing isn't ideology, it's personality. Biden is very competent but also kind of boring.

One of my thoughts on voting is a required number of early voting days, which must encompass all seven days of the week, with each day featured at least twice. Voting only on weekends is common and causes problems for people who work in hospitality (their "weekend" if they get one is often Wednesday) and also for Jews...I have legit seen early voting only available on the Sabbath. I have a LOT of thoughts about voting.

For example, people bring up all kinds of issues with voting machines such as tampering and malfunctions. They forget one constantly: It's hard to scale up for high turnout. If you have six voting machines in the precinct...you have six voting machines. You can't just bring in more if turnout is three times normal. With paper ballots, you *can*.
