King Charles Quietly Institutes his First Monarchal Reform
King Charles III is taking some getting used to. But he’s starting to make his own stamp on the monarchy already.
And it’s one that’s causing controversy. Why? Because it has to do with Harry and Meghan’s kids.
Harry and Meghan have two children, Archie and Lilibet. Until the death of the queen, these two children did not have the title of Prince/Princess. Prince/Princess is actually reserved for people very tight to the line, but this includes grandchildren of the reigning sovereign.
Not great grandchildren. William’s three kids did get it because they are in the direct line.
Archie and Lilibet were listed on the line of succession as Master Archie and Miss Lilibet Mountbatten-Windsor.
With the death of the Queen they technically became entitled to Prince and Princess, and Charles has now confirmed it. (Rumor has it there was literal discussion about whether they would be too dark skinned. No kidding).
However, they are not getting the HRH title. Some reporters say that Harry and Meghan are furious.
But what is actually happening is that a trend in the use of the title may be being formalized.
