It reminds me of Bratislava, the capital city of Slovakia, which is also easy to get to from Vienna (it's like a two hour ferry ride down the Danube IIRC) and is well worth a visit for the quirky architecture, the weird street art (it's home of the famous Man At Work sculpture), and the good food.

If I make it to Vienna, Graz seems like it might be worth investigating.
