My mother made me her executor. She never asked my permission. She was in the U.K. I was in the U.S. They wouldn't release her will without the physical presence of the executor... Thankfully I was coming over for the funeral anyway, but if I hadn't been able to afford it... Don't make an expat your executor and don't make somebody your executor without their express consent. Her solicitor kinda failed too.
