Not always. My former trainer once rescued a small grade pony and a horse that looked like somebody had bred their mare to the pretty spotted stallion next door from one of those situations. They were "fostered" at the lesson barn. (We all know how THAT ends).

But yeah. The fancy horse thing. Or the people I know who were going to make a fortune in miniature horses. Unfortunately, they were a state away or I would totally have helped them...they just had a field full of completely untrained minis that were breeding randomly and ARGH.
