Of course you’re really the sex you are. If a woman with a full beard is talking to me and tells me she’s a woman, then she’s a woman…and I don’t care if she’s a cis woman with PCOS or whatever or a trans man who can’t stand shaving. Still a woman. I get it, I do, because there are way too many assholes out there who don’t think that way. I don’t need to know anyone’s reproductive anatomy. The only person who needs to know what’s in somebody’s pants is their doctor and their current or prospective sexual partner(s).

What I’m hunting for is a way to ensure medical staff know whether somebody has a cervix, that ER staff know to investigate the possibility of pregnancy (a couple of years ago a trans man lost his baby because they saw the M marker and came to the wrong assumptions), without the risk of anyone being misgendered.

So, what would you suggest if the idea of specifying anatomy makes you feel uncomfortable? Do you have a good alternative here?
