People are buying cars because getting tested for COVID is a privilege for those who have one. Because transit networks are reducing service dramatically.

Unfortunately, not everyone can afford a car. And it's not just poor people either, but some lower middle class folk too.

Not owning a car makes you a second-class citizen until this is over, and buying one isn't always an option.

Public transit needs to be providing more service to support safe social distancing, not less, and walk-up clinics for testing need to increase. Some of us can't even get to our doctors right now.
