People don't often realize that most in the west didn't know what was going on in the camps. The war was not fought to liberate the camps, but because Germany was throwing its weight around and invading other countries.

Had they stayed within their borders...who knows what would have happened.

And America, which wasn't threatened, didn't enter the war until it WAS threatened, despite the rumors and the calls of American Jews to do so.
