Poor broken kitty.

I wonder if bringing them in for routine stuff actually makes them behave better too. I've never owned a cat, does desensitization work on them?

And cats definitely choose people. Occasionally you meet a cat who chooses everyone in sight. The barn has one and I joke that he was a dog in a previous life.

Honestly, he's a weird cat. He once tried to get me to help him hunt a deer. He will politely, but clearly, request people sit down if he wants lap time. I don't know whether he's *smart* or just really good at communicating with humans (or both).

His sister is a much more typical cat who sees everyone as a source of opposable thumbs. She will permit you to pet her if SHE feels like being petted.

They're very similar in appearance.

This has caused problems.
