Reproductive coercion is one of the less known varieties of domestic abuse. It includes:
Stealthing (condom removal during sex) if done with the goal of making your partner pregnant.
Sabotaging or confiscating birth control.
Claiming to be on birth control when you are not.
Denying abortion access.
Coercing an abortion.
And yes, the partner capable of becoming pregnant can practice this too through the vehicle of claiming to be on birth control when they are not or similar ways of intentionally getting pregnant to try and force a partner to stay with them.
It goes all ways in this case, and the tradition of denying a divorce during pregnancy empowers abusers.
