Same choice I was faced with. I hope you aren't mad that I am using this as validation that I did indeed make the right choice getting the surgery, even with the longer recovery time and rehab. I wouldn't have lost ALL the use of it, but I would have lost "some grip strength and extension" permanently and I decided that given how much I use my hands, the surgery was worth it.
