Some of this is jealousy. They are mediocre and know they can't compete with actual talent. (I'm thinking of the harassment that has been received by Nigerian author and editor Oghenechovwe Donald Ekpeki, who was a double Hugo nominee this year...one of only FIVE people to be nominated in a writing and editing category in the same year, and boy are the racists mad about it).

They need privilege so they can continue to make mediocre stories, and it's easier to harass than to up their game.

From my perspective, I have enjoyed and will continue to enjoy works by Black creators., and shows and movies with Black stars. Black Panther was a visual delight and it was so nice to have a movie where we could argue about the best female character...because there was more than ONE badass woman.

I'm on your side because it's the right thing to do and because diverse media is better media.
