Superheroes and the Law
There are a lot of very legitimate criticisms of superhero fiction…most especially it’s often loose relationship with science.
Most fans accept that not only is scientific accuracy not needed, but it’s often not desirable. There are genre tropes that overrule these things.
The CW show The Flash is, of course, no exception to this rule. No, having dark matter in your DNA can’t give you superpowers…or do anything else. We don’t even know what dark matter is, so for all we know we do have it in our DNA or something.
It doesn’t bother me because it’s a superhero show.
But then, they start trying to deal with the law…
(Spoilers follow)
The Trial of Killer Frost
The current A plot of The Flash involves the Speed Force getting into fights with other forces of nature. And being a bitch, which she has been throughout the show. (Yes, the Speed Force presents as female. Go figure).
The B plot has involved Killer Frost. I adore the character of Frost as she’s presented in this show, primarily because I’m a sucker for a good redemption arc.
Frost is an alternate personality of Caitlin Snow, but now they’ve been split into their own bodies. Which Caitlin is not entirely happy about.
