The first time I got a PAP smear I was unable to get up from the table for a good 15 minutes because of severe vertigo.

I was told this was NORMAL by the nurse who did it. She no longer works at that practice (this was many years ago, but she was gone fairly soon afterwards).

I now experience significant pain with every PAP smear due to the vaginismus she gave me.

It turns out that I have a very narrow vagina unless significantly aroused, and all she needed to do was use the pediatric speculum...but because I was sexually active with a man, she just assumed the "medium" would work without looking.

Gynecological medicine needs sooooo much work.
