The Queen will not abdicate. There's no historical precedent for abdication in the absence of a scandal. She won't retire either, because that would require some change in the mechanism.

Abdication is traditionally a shameful thing. It's possible that if her health declines substantially, Charles will be named regent, though.

I doubt he'll abdicate either, for the same reasons.
