The WHO believes the outbreak started at two large raves in Europe, which attracted people from Africa and America. Somebody had monkeypox, didn't know it, and was making out with people at raves. Could just as easily have been a straight guy or, for that matter, a lesbian. I blame the fact that people have had to be so careful because of COVID, have gotten tired of being careful because of COVID, and are now making up for lost time.

(You're still far more likely to get COVID from making out with a stranger, mind...)
