There's a balance. Also some confusion here.

Some experts are saying SARS-CoV-2 will eventually become just another cold. Some people are taking that as "It's just another cold."

Not yet it isn't. Each wave results in a much smaller proportion of hospitalizations and deaths as we build population immunity. But it's not a cold *yet* and we need to take the appropriate precautions for our risk level, our family's risk level, and the economic consequences of getting sick. And respect the choices of others.

Sometimes that is going to lead to conflict. But the pandemic is not yet over. We still need to build enough resistance from infections and vaccines (and vaccines are obviously much safer) to knock it down to just another respiratory virus.
