Trans women should be allowed to compete as women in segregated sports. Mitigation should be based on the specific biological advantages, if any, that men have in that sport.
One thing that keeps making me roll my eyes is the idea that we can come up with one standard for how long a trans woman needs to be on t-blockers to be allowed to compete. Needs to be on a sport by sport basis. In some sports, it doesn't matter...and in those sports we should start questioning why we even have the gender split in the first place.
Elite sports aren't fair by definition. In addition to the tremendous amount of hard work, the best athletes have some kind of biological advantage. Phelps is built perfectly to be a swimmer. Biles is built perfectly to be a gymnast. They didn't choose those biological advantages, only to take advantage of them by pursuing those sports. But a few extra grams of testosterone and oh no it's not FAIR.
A trans woman who wins at the Olympics will almost certainly have other biological advantages as well, depending on the sport.
This is all about dividing women against each other, all of it. That's what too many of these cis women don't see...this is the right wing setting us against each other so we can't unite and take them down.
Let's stop letting them do that.
(And don't even get me started on Caster Semenya. Grrrargh. They did it to two other cis Black women too just this year).
