What I tell people on exercise is this:
1. You exercise in ways your body allows. Disabled people and those with mobility problems get really tired of being told to exercise more.
2. If you don't want to work out in a gym...don't! Look for something you do enjoy that will keep you active. It doesn't matter what you do (unless you're in physical therapy or rehab or whatever). I know people who stay fit through tennis, kick boxing, owning a physically active dog, playing Pokemon Go...
If you enjoy it it stops being "exercise" and ust another chore.
(That said, telling people with chronic illness that they just need to eat healthier and exercise more might get you whacked with a cane. Yes, eating healthy and exercising more is good for you, but I have a chronic illness, thankfully a very managable one, that these things *don't* fix).
