Why? Why do they feel unsafe around somebody who has never hurt them? The answer is because transphobes constantly talk about how trans women are “males” and are all rapists. I can think of ONE incident, ONE of a trans woman sexually assaulting cis women, and that was in prison, and the individual concerned shouldn’t have been in gen pop anyway. One. It Simply Doesn’t Happen and it’s an intentional bugbear designed to turn cis women against trans women.

That is what we need to address. The bluntly dangerous rhetoric that leads to bathroom policing. Which I will note makes me, a cis woman, feel unsafe. Not the trans women, but the efforts to keep them out.

You shouldn’t be looking at other people’s genitals in the locker room anyway. Shouldn’t matter what equipment they have.
