Yes, there are safe hydrogen-based technologies.

Unfortunately, there’s zero chance of the average person being willing to board a hydrogen-based airship. The Hindenburg is just too much part of our collective consciousness.

And for shorter routes, I wouldn’t mind spending two hours on an airship over one hour on a regional jet. Or a loud turboprop.
